Eating on a budget (1)

As a single parent I know how hard it can be to please everyone come meal times. You want to buy things that are cheap and fit your budget, your children however want things that cost a little more. In my eating on a budget series I will offer hints and tips of my own to help with the above problem and if any of you send any to me I will also offer them up to help others as well. BAKED BEANS Not the most inspiring food item but they can be cheap and filling and they are filled with fiber. First how many of you have reached for the cheapest tin of beans you can find only to have someone who is with you tell them they taste horrid and they prefer a more well known brand. Advice Day.

((The following are messages asking for advice and my replies)) Dear Yes Mother Knows Best I'm hoping you can help me out. I've been dating the same person for just over a year, although we've known each other since we were teenagers. I do love and care about him deeply, hard not to after all these years of being close, but recently I've noticed he only wants to be intimate when we talk about his ex. Secondly is this a new thing or has it been that way since you first started dating but you are only just noticing it? Think back to the beginning of the relationship, when he used...

When someone says the words "Mental Health" what is the first thing that jumps into your head? Centuries ago if someone had a mental health issue no matter what it was, and sometimes even women with body health issues such as menopause,  they were an outcast and sent to an asylum.  Luckily however in modern society that attitude is no more, but due to the stigma around the words metal health few people step forward to seek the help they need. I personally suffer from depression and for years when I tried to talk to some about it I would be told to "Get over it" or "Snap your self out of it". At first I kept quiet about it but I realised that made how I felt worse. I started standing up to ...
